§ Mr. Morganasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if, further to his reply to the hon. Member for Enfield, North (Mr. Eggar) on 6 April, Official Report, c. 186, he will, in view of the hardship currently being caused to farmers by the non-payment of value added tax due to them, in addition to the arrangements made for pay-as-you-earn, make temporary arrangements to allow farmers to set value added tax repayments owed to them against the income tax they owe and to waive any interest chargeable by the Inland Revenue against unpaid tax.
