HC Deb 31 July 1981 vol 9 c660W
Mr. Bradley

asked the Secretary of State for Transport whether he will arrange for his Department to cease stating in radio filler advertisements that drivers are not prohibited from parking on pavements, in view of the dangerous nature of this practice particularly for blind, disabled and elderly people.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

The radio filler broadcast to which the hon. Member refers made clear that parking on pavements causes problems for the blind and disabled. It has, however, been revised to draw attention to the offence of driving on the pavement. The reference to parking on the pavement not being prohibited in some circumstances has now been omitted.
