HC Deb 31 July 1981 vol 9 c545W
Mr. Canavan

asked the right hon. Member for Middlesbrough, as representing the House of Commons Commission, whether the Inbucon final report contains a recommendation on the hearing of appeals; if so, what; and whether the commission intends to implement any such recommendation.

Mr. Beith

I have been asked to reply.

Inbucon's final report recommends that, if both sides adopt the job grade structure as a workable document for appeals purposes, careful consideration should be given to the development of an appeals procedure. This is one of the aspects of the grading review to which the commission will be giving attention.

Mr. Canavan

asked the right hon. Member for Middlesbrough, as representing the House of Commons Commission, whether the commission will meet the House of Commons Whitley committee trade union side to discuss the grading review prior to reaching a decision on the Inbucon final report.

Mr. Beith

I have been asked to reply.

No decision on this matter will be reached until the commission next considers the consultants' report.
