Mr. McNamara

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what proportion of the additional £60 million in 1982–83 for vocational training will be apportioned to the Hull division of the Humberside education authority.

The distribution of the additional resources to enable more young people to stay on in school or college which were announced by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister on 27 July has not yet been decided. A further announcement will be made in due course.

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many young people in the Hull education division remained at school after the statutory school leaving age; and how this figure in absolute and percentage terms compares with the remainder of Humberside, the Yorkshire and Humberside economic region and England and Wales.
