HC Deb 31 July 1981 vol 9 cc584-5W
Mr. Hudson Davies

asked the Secretary of State for Wales how many patients with conditions classified as urgent were awaiting admission to National Health Service hospitals in Wales during September 1980 and March 1981 and were not admitted within a period of one month; and what is the percentage difference between these figures and the comparable figures for the previous September and March.

Mr. Nicholas Edwards

At 30 September 1980, 2,852 patients with conditions classified as urgent had been awaiting admission for more than one month. This figure was 37 per cent. higher than a year earlier. At 31 March 1981, 2,691 patients were in the same category, 9 per cent. fewer than in March 1980.
