§ Mr. Marlowasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to his answer to the hon. Member for Northampton, North, on 22 July, whether any police were present at the Rainbow theatre at the time a young man was murdered there on 13 July; and, if so, what action they took.
§ Mr. MayhewI understand from the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis that no police were present inside the Rainbow theatre on 13 July. There were police outside the theatre for the purpose of controlling traffic and crowds. On learning of the incident involving injury to the young man they entered the theatre and commenced their investigations.
