HC Deb 30 July 1981 vol 9 cc457-8W
Mr. Morton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what criteria he uses when determining whether to set up a planning inquiry commission under section 45 of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1972; how many have been set up since 1972; and what were the subjects of these commissions.

Mr. Rifkind

The criteria for referring a planning matter to a planning inquiry commission are set out in section 45(2) of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1972. No planning inquiry commissions have been constituted since 1972.
