HC Deb 30 July 1981 vol 9 c472W
Dr. Glyn

asked the Paymaster General if he will now take steps to ensure that public service pensioners can obtain their pensions from post offices or other Government Departments during the present Civil Service dispute.

Mr. Pym

Details of emergency arrangements for the issue of public service pensions have been published in the national press and displayed in post offices. These include the issue of an advance to pensioners, in case of need, who write to my office at Crawley. Weekly paid pensioners should apply to their usual post office for emergency payments. I regret that it is impracticable for the emergency issue of pensions to be made through other Government Departments.
