§ Sir Patrick Wallasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the proposals for a special grant scheme for those involved in herring processing.
§ Mr. YoungerThe Herring Buyers' Association, on behalf of the herring processing industry throughout the United Kingdom, has sought special aid towards re-equipping factories to cope with the expected resumption of major herring fisheries. Officials of my Department met the association to discuss its case and requested further information. This has now been received and the association's request is being examined.
