asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will list all sports clubs to which grants have been paid in the past five years that have restricted membership; how much has been paid to each club; and in what way the membership of each club is restricted.

Membership of the Gaelic Athletic Association is restricted by virtue of one of its rules which states, inter alia: British soldiers, Navy men and police shall not be eligible for membership of the Association. In the case of the two rugby clubs and the squash club, membership is limited to former pupils of the respective schools.
