§ Mr. HurdAt the ministerial meeting of the NATO Council on 5 May, the United States Government announced their intention to begin negotiations with the Soviet Union on long range theatre nuclear force arms control by the end of the year. As foreseen in the communiqué issued at the meeting, the NATO bodies concerned are now preparing for these negotiations.
