§ 33. Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Lord Privy Seal what representation Her Majesty's Government have received against the possible participation of the Palestine Liberation Organisation in any negotiations working towards solving the Middle East dispute.
§ Mr. HurdRepresentations have been received both in support of and in opposition to the Ten's policy of seeking the widest possible acceptance of the Venice principles, which includes the need to associate the PLO with peace negotiations. We believe that progress towards a negotiated comprehensive peace settlement cannot be made without taking into account the political support that the PLO has among the majority of the Palestinian people.
