§ Mr. HurdMy right hon. and noble Friend visited Strasbourg on 8 July, in his capacity as Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the European Community. In the course of the 'visit he set out the programme for our six-month Presidency of the European Community; a copy of his speech has been placed in the Library. He also gave an account of the European Council which took place on 29 and 30 June and answered questions on behalf of both the Council and of the member States in political co-operation.
