§ Mr. WaddingtonThe number of inspectors employed by the Health and Safety Executive at 1 April in each of the past three years was:
1 April 1979 1,424 1 April 1980 1,444 1 April 1981 1,404 Civil Service manpower economies are expected to reduce the number of inspectors by 1 April 1982 to about 1,380. I am advised that thereafter the executive aims to maintain the number as close to this level as is possible within the resources made available.
