§ Mr. Lathamasked the Secretary of State for Energy whether, in the interests of assisting the Government's counter-inflation policy, he will instruct the British Gas Corporation not to go ahead with the planned increase in gas prices due in October, following the Government's instructions, or at least that element of it which exceeds the rate of inflation; and whether he will make a statement on the reasons for his decision.
