Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Social Services on what date he received the letter, sent to him on 21 May by the Greater London Citizens Advice Bureaux Services, concerning community health councils; when he replied thereto; what was the nature of his reply; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Dr. VaughanThe letter to which the hon. Member refers is one of nearly 600 received in response to our recent consultative papers "Community Health Councils in England: Consultative Paper on Role and Membership". We have not replied to all of these individually but we are very grateful for the interest and concern which has been shown. We are now studying all the comments and will inform the House of our decisions in due course.
