§ Mr. Peter MorrisonThere are no comprehensive statistics of redundancies. The number of redundancies, involving 10 or more employees, reported to the Manpower Services Commission as due to occur in the Birmingham travel-to-work area between April 1979 and June 1981 (inclusive) is 37,765 including provisional figures for May and June. Separate figures by sex are not available. The industry groups most affected, in terms of numbers of redundancies, were the following:
