§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeNotification of dangerous goods arriving at a port is not covered by the European agreement concerning the international carriage of dangerous goods by road (ADR) but is a general requirement under byelaw of individual ports. These usually require at least 24 hours notice and apply not merely to certain named substances but to all dangerous goods.
