§ 46. Mr. Dobsonasked the Attorney-General what considerations he bore in mind when deciding to adopt the case of Barrs and others v. Bethell and others.
§ The Attorney-GeneralI gave my consent to relator proceedings in the case of Barrs and others v. Bethell and others because only the Attorney-General can sue on behalf of the public for the purpose of preventing public wrongs. The ratepayers in this case did not have sufficient locus standi to bring the action in their own right.
