HL Deb 17 July 1981 vol 422 cc1557-8WA
Lord Wakefield of Kendal

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What guidance is given by the Charity Commission to trustees who ask for advice about the definition of prudence and imprudence in the discharge of duties and responsibilities laid down by the Charities Act 1960 and the Trustee Investment Act 1961.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Home Office (Lord Belstead)

The Government are informed by the Charity Commission that it would not be possible to give a specific reply to an inquiry in such broad terms as those in the noble Lord's Question. But the Commission are always very willing to give help and guidance to trustees who ask for advice on a specific problem.

House adjourned at nineteen minutes before four o'clock.
