asked the Secretary of State for Industry how many organisations involved with the support, creation or development of small businesses within England are financially aided by his Department; and if he will list them.

The Department is contributing towards the cost of projects being undertaken by the following organisationsDurham University Business School—to strengthen advisory services for new small enterprises provided through the school's new enterprise development project. The London Business School—a programme designed to encourage and assist teachers to introduce small business management training. The Polytechnic of North London—a study of the feasibility of establishing a small business club in North London.

The Department also makes financial grants under the Co-operative Development Agency Act 1978 to the Cooperative Development Agency and to the Industrial Common Ownership Movement Ltd.
