asked the Prime Minister if, instead of sending additional civil servants to propagate Her Majesty's Government's position on Northern Ireland to the United States of America, she will now consider inviting a senior, articulate and experienced politician to continue this task.

The Prime Minister

The Government's position is explained on a regular basis in the United States by our ambassador and his staff. All Ministers visiting the United States are asked to make a special effort to put across our viewpoint.
