§ Mr. Ernie Rossasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list the criteria he employed in deciding that the expenditure of the following regional and district councils was unreasonable and excessive: Lothian, Stirling, Dumbarton, Dundee, Renfrew, Cumnock and East Lothian.
§ Mr. RifkindReports relating to Lothian regional council, Dundee district council and Stirling district council laid before the House on 10 July set out the criteria used by my right hon. Friend. A similar report, including criteria, dealing with Dumbarton, East Lothian and Renfrew district councils will shortly be laid before the House. My right hon. Friend has no present intention of further action in the case of Cumnock and Doon Valley district council.
