Mr. Dobson

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many new claims have followed television advertising campaigns on family income supplement; how many (a) one-parent families and (b) two-parent families are estimated to be entitled to but not claiming family income supplement; and how many (i) one-parent families and (ii) two parent families are receiving family income supplement.

[pursuant to her reply, 29 June 1981]: The total numbers of new and renewal claims received in November 1980 and in each of the succeeding months that followed our last advertising campaign on provincial television, in the press and in other forms, are shown in the following table. It is not possible to separate the new claims that resulted from the television element in this campaign.
