§ Mr. Formanasked the Secretary of State for Transport whether he is able to announce the results of the publicity campaign to reduce pedal cyclist casualties in East Anglia; and whether he has any plans to extend the campaign.
§ Mr. FowlerProvisional figures for cycling casualties in the Anglia television region in October and November412W 1980, which included the period of the television campaign there, show a drop of 18 per cent. compared with the same period in 1979. For the corresponding periods, casualties in other regions ranged from a reduction of 10 per cent. to an increase of 24 per cent. In the light of this result, which I regard as very encouraging, I have decided to run the campaign in the London television region from 20 July until the end of August.
