§ Mr. MayhewThirty-six prisoners who have been recommended for transfer to hospital under section 72 of the Mental Health Act 1959 have not yet been found a hospital place. Their particulars are as follows:
had been recommended so far in that year and who had been released from prison before that date. A further five prisoners in respect of whom similar recommendations were made in 1980 were subsequently released on the expiry of their sentences before any hospital place had been found for them. Of those reported upon in 1981, one has been similarly released. I regret that information about any further offences which may have been committed by these former prisoners is not available.
