§ Mr. BrittanA detailed breakdown of the local authority borrowing requirement showing the different kinds of borrowing undertaken is given in "Financial Statistics" published monthly by the Central Statistical Office. Tables 4.3 to 4.6 of the June 1981 edition give information for 1980–81. Comprehensive accounts of local authorities receipts and expenditure are not yet available. The outturn of the borrowing requirement is based on a monthly inquiry on the type and size of local authority borrowing.
