§ Mr. Buchanan-SmithThere have been suggestions that we should adopt in respect of the United Kingdom 12-mile limit the same provisions as are currently imposed in the 12-mile limits of other Atlantic member States where beam trawlers of more than 300 bhp or 70 gross registered tonnes are banned. The evidence and views put forward by the fishing industry will be taken into account in any changes that may be needed.
