§ Mr. P. Whiteheadasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) if he will now place in the Library copies of all individual letters sent to the universities on 1 July by the Universities Grants Committee;
(2) what information he has received from the University Grants Committee on the subject areas and individual subjects which it proposes to strengthen in the years 1981 to 1984; and in which institutions concentrations of such disciplines are to be attempted.

With the agreement of the vice-chancellors and principals concerned the University Grants Committee's letters to individual universities and other institutions have now been placed in the Library of the House.
