§ Mr. Haynesasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make additional funds available to the Nottinghamshire area health authority in order to secure the additional orthopaedic operating theatre at Mansfield Harlow Wood hospital and reduce the present existing waiting lists for this specialty in this area.
§ Dr. VaughanThe Department allocates capital resources to regional health authorities on the basis of an assessment of overall health care need and the extent to which those needs are met by existing capital facilities. The allocation of resources to an area health authority is a matter for the appropriate regional health authority which, in the case of Nottinghamshire area health authority (teaching), is Trent regional health authority.
