HC Deb 06 July 1981 vol 8 c51W
Mr. Brocklebank-Fowler

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he has received a request from the Government of Uganda for military assistance; and, if so, what has been his response.

Mr. Luce

I have been asked to reply.

A request for military training and the supply of equipment was made during my visit to Uganda in February. I gave no commitment on the latter, but we did agree to consider the request for training. An investigation of Ugandan needs is currently under way. No decisions have yet been taken.
