§ Mr. MacGregorIndustrial expansion depends, primarily on the ability and willingness of managements and work forces to increase the competitiveness of their companies. The Government's policy of reducing inflation and controlling public expenditure will help create the 19W conditions for industry to expand in all parts of the country, including Merseyside which is eligible for the full range of regional aids, and is receiving substantial sums of public money to assist its regeneration each year.
