§ Mr. Fauldsasked the Secretary of State for Trade, whether, following the failure of the recent prosecution, he will now seek to amend the Auctions (Bidding Agreements) Acts of 1927 and 1969.
§ Mrs. Sally OppenheimI recognise that the recent unsuccessful prosecution has increased the anxiety felt by some that the Acts may not be as effective as they might be. Another prosecution is, however, proceeding in Swansea Crown court. I shall await the results of that prosecution before deciding whether and if so what changes are necessary in the Acts.
