§ Mr. Carter-Jonesasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will specify the circumstances in 493W which a divorced woman may receive category B retirement pension on her former husband's contributions before he has reached pensionable age and retired.
§ Mr. RossiThere are no circumstances in which a divorced woman can receive a category B retirement pension on her former husband's contributions, irrespective of the age of the former husband. A former husband's contributions up to the time of divorce may be used by a divorced woman where this would enable her to qualify for a higher category A pension than she would get solely on her own contributions.
