asked the Secretary of State for Transport what representations he has received recently concerning the compulsory wearing of seat belts.

Since 1 March, I have received 171 representations. Of these 78, including 22 from organizations—two of which were accompanied by petitions—were in favour of compulsion while 93, all from individuals, were against.
