§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeI refer my hon. Friend to the reply I have given earlier today to my hon. Friend the Member for Cornwall, North (Mr. Neale) for signs on verges and highway land. Signs on land alongside roads not part of the highway are subject to control under the town and country planning legislation and are primarily a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment.
