§ Mr. Norman LamontI am advised by the CEGB that the proportion of its capital expenditure covered by retained income—the self-financing ratio—was 63.1 per cent. in 1969–70 and 55.7 per cent. in 1979–80. Corresponding figures for the electricity supply industry, which includes the 12 area boards as well as the CEGB, are 77.4 per cent. in 1969–70 and 81.5 per cent. in 1979–80.
