HC Deb 01 July 1981 vol 7 cc374-5W
Mr. Robert Atkins

asked the Secretary of State for Trade whether, in view of the present failure of air traffic control facilities, he will ask the British Airports Authority and the Civil Aviation Authority to invite tenders for alternative provision for such facilities.

Mr. Eyre

Though I naturally regret the inconvenience caused to the travelling public and the airlines by the current industrial dispute, I do not accept that our air traffic control facilities have failed. Accordingly, we are not contemplating inviting tenders for alternative provisions of air traffic services.
