Mr. Tom Ellisasked the Secretary of State for Social Services, in the light of restrictions currently being placed on the supply on homoeopathic medicines in the Prescriptions-Only Medicines' list, if he will introduce legislation to clarify the position of any such non-toxic medicines with no harmful or habit-forming effect.
§ Dr. VaughanNo. The current legal position is clear enough, and it reflects advice proffered to Ministers by the Medicines Commission about the extent to which the sale or supply of minute dose preparations ought to be restricted in the interest of safety. We do not have it in mind to propose any further relaxation of the restrictions which now apply.
