§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for the Environment, pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for Wolverhampton, North-East on 16 January, if he will separate the figures for the reductions in post between 1 May 1979 and 1 December 1980 in the administrative and executive categories.
§ Mr. Heseltine[pursuant to his reply, 26 January 1981]: Records of staff reductions in my Department are not kept separately for the administrative and executive categories, as the distinction between them was removed following the Fulton report on the Civil Service—Cmnd. 3638. Separation of the figures would, therefore, be expensive and probably misleading.
