HC Deb 26 January 1981 vol 997 c308W
Mr. Freud

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many people are currently in receipt of supplementary benefit in the Wisbech area; and what was the corresponding number in January 1979 and January 1977, respectively.

Mrs. Chalker

Information is not available in the form requested. However, at December 1980, the latest date for which information is available, 13,000 people were receiving supplementary benefit from the King's Lynn office, which covers a large geographical area including Wisbech. Figures for November 1978 and November 1976, the most appropriate comparable dates, were 12,500 and 12,100 respectively. The figures are based on a 100 per cent. count of supplementary benefit cases.
