asked the Secretary of State for Employment what is the number of men and women unemployed in Rochdale between the ages of 50 to 55, 55 to 60 and 60 to 65 years.

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many immigrants in the Rochdale travel-to-work area were unemployed on December published figures; and if these can be broken down into sex and age groups.

Figures for immigrants generally are not available, but at 13 November 1980, the latest date for which information is available, the number of registered unemployed people in the Rochdale travel-to-work area who were born in the New Commonwealth or Pakistan was 669 (596 males and 73 females).

For unemployed ethnic minority workers an age analysis is made annually in February. At 14 February 1980 the age of distribution was as follows:
