§ Mr. Bruce-Gardyneasked the Secretary of State for Defence whether it remains the policy of Her Majesty's Government that any overspend on cash limits by his Department in the current financial year will be fully offset against cash limits for the financial year 1981–82.
§ Mr. NottIt is the general practice for any overspend on a particular cash limit to be offset by a corresponding deduction from the cash limit in question in the following financial year. However, the outturn on the defence budget in 1980–81 will not be known for some time and the position will then need to be reviewed.
