§ Mr. Cryerasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many (a) production workers, (b) office and clerical, (c) administration and (d) design and development staff are currently employed by De Lorean Cars Ltd.
§ Mr. Adam ButlerThis is a matter for the company, but I understand that on 22 January 1981 De Lorean Motor Cars Ltd. employed 566 hourly paid production workers; 277 supervisory and clerical staff; 21 administrative staff and 9 design and development staff.
§ Mr. Cryerasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if the De Lorean Car Company or C. P. Trim Ltd. has applied for any further financial assistance to his Department; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Adam ButlerAn application by De Lorean Motor Cars Ltd. for assistance to help resolve a short-term working capital requirement has been received and is under consideration. C. P. Trim Ltd. has not applied for further financial assistance.
§ Mr. Cryerasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland when he expects the De Lorean Car to commence production; at what monthly rate; and at what price the car will be offered for sale.
§ Mr. Adam ButlerThese are matters for the company, but I understand that production has commenced and it is intended that it will gradually build up to a daily rate of 30 cars by the end of the month. I am informed that the price will be announced nearer to the initial sales launch of the car.
