HC Deb 26 January 1981 vol 997 c304W
Mr. Rooker

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many cases there are in the West Midlands where the Wages Inspectorate has failed to secure arrears of earnings due to employees or former employees in hairdressing following complaints made over four years ago; and in how many such cases the Wages Inspectorate has prosecuted; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Waddington

There is only one case of this description. Prosecution was not considered appropriate. The employer, who no longer has a hair-dressing business, is repaying the debt by instalments.
