§ Mr. Peter Robinsonasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether a decision has yet been taken concerning the disposal of Galwally House and the future policing of the Ormeau Road area.
§ Mr. Alison[pursuant to his reply, 22 January 1980, c. 244]: I am informed that following the review by the Chief Constable of policing requirements in the Galwally/Ormeau Road area the Police Authority for Northern Ireland has decided not to build a sub-divisional headquarters station on the Galwally House site. The Chief Constable now considers that policing needs in the area would be better met by the provision of a station on or close to the Ormeau Road. I am also informed that the police authority will be submitting to my right hon. Friend a proposal to dispose of the Galwally site.
