HC Deb 22 January 1981 vol 997 cc222-3W
Mr. Kilroy-Silk

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department why West London magistrates' court was closed to the press and the public on Monday 12 January; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Mayhew

I understand that procedings at West London magistrates' court were open to the press and public on Monday 12 January, except thatex parte applications to the court were heard in private, as is customary. The case which, I believe, the hon. Member has in mind is that of an unsuccessful applicant for the postponement of the issue of a warrant of commitment in respect of an unpaid fine.
