§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeIn 1980, 60 miles of motorway were opened. It is expected that a further 45 miles will be opened daring 1981. In addition, widening of 8 ½miles of existing motorway was completed in 1980 and a further 2 ½miles is due to be completed in 1981.
