HC Deb 16 January 1981 vol 996 c609W
Mr. Morgan

asked the Secretary of State for Wales (1) whether he will take steps to ensure that Welsh angling interests are adequately represented on the South Wales sea fisheries committee;

(2) how many persons, if any, representing Welsh angling interests are currently serving on the South Wales sea fisheries committee;

(3) whether he will ensure that Welsh angling interests are adequately represented on the Lancashire and Western sea fisheries committee, inasmuch as that body has jurisdiction over sea fisheries around the coasts of North Wales;

(4) how many persons representing Welsh angling interests are currently serving on the Lancashire and Western sea fisheries committee.

Mr. Nicholas Edwards

There is one representative of angling interests on the South Wales sea fisheries committee but none appointed specifically for that purpose on the Lancashire and Western sea fisheries committee. I shall bear those interests in mind when the present appointments expire in June.
