HC Deb 16 January 1981 vol 996 c605W
Mr. Jessel

asked the Lord Privy Seal what proportion of British overseas aid is reflected in orders placed in British factories.

Mr. Neil Marten

We estimate that some two-thirds of the United Kingdom's overseas aid programme, including bilateral and multilateral procurement, results in orders to British business. The greater part of such orders relates to the supply of goods from Britain, but no information is readily available on the precise proportion placed in British factories.
